One of Ryan’s oft talked about jobs back home was pot washing and cooking at Jodie’s. And today we had the delight of visiting. Corey took us out of the city a few miles to Albany. Jodie’s is a tiny diner in a residential quarter; its seating comprises six bar stools and eaters sit facing nose to nose with Jodie and his cooking crew; conversation and banter is non stop which suited us fine! Jodie insisted that Alun & I had a dish called “Richard”: a bed of chopped lettuce with other indistinguishable ingredients, finished with three poached eggs and a split English muffin — HUGE and wonderful! http://www.jodiesrestaurant.com
