Nearly fifty years ago, Enva Hoxha banned the practice of religion in Albania. Since the fall of that oppressive state in 1990 religious freedom and expression has been gradually returning to the country. The Resurrection of Christ Cathedral is tangible evidence that God is at work in Albania. The Albanian Orthodox Church has been blessed by the missionary zeal of Archbishop Anastasios. Today, the Cathedral has been consecrated by His All-Holiness the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I, together with patriarchs and leaders of many denominations from around the world. What a privilege to be there.
