I set off with the car, cautiously picking my way through the crazy Albanian traffic — I’d hardly got into third gear and a policeman stopped me — he thrust a ticket through my window! I showed him my papers and driving license, he asked me where I was from etc. I asked him “what have I done?” All I could understand was that it was something to do with “two”. He went off to his colleague parked near by. I pursued him, thinking I’m not going to take this sitting down! He had no better English than the first officer. I continued to ask “why”, and included a few smiles and other non challenging gestures — he then ripped the ticked up and returned my papers — I returned to the car and set off again. I’m now in Fier, in a comfy hotel resting!
