My journey south was spectacular. The route took me over the Llogaraja Pass, via hairpin bends and precipitous edges. At one point most of the road had tumbled over the edge — I had to gingerly hug the cliff, hoping I wasn’t the next to slip over the edge.
The route eventually picked up the coast, following beaches, bays and gorges. I passed the Top Gear acclaimed entrance to the submarine pens carved into the rock. The journey should have taken 2 1/2 hours — it was more like four — but worth every minute of it.
