Valbonë, set high in the Malësi highlands is surrounded by high peaks, topped with snow. Tourism is edging in but with great care. Local families are opening their homes and welcome visitors. There’s a growing collaboration to mark trails and support them with guides. http://www.journeytovalbona.com/ is one such network which is producing impressive mapping and guiding. On Thursday we walked for ten hours, with a few stops!
