My good friends Marko & Greta were my host and guide at Hoxha’s underground bunker built in the 70s in the event of nuclear attack from the west or the east. During his 41 year tyrannical reign he was convinced other countries would attack. The bunker has more than 100 rooms on five levels. It has quarters for Hoxha and leaders of State, and a communications system. A history of Albania is portrayed in photos and text with many authentic and eerie room settings. The 200 seat auditorium I guess was there to while away the time – spooky!
